The Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation is dedicated to providing qualified homes for any horse in need. It is our goal to make certain that every horse placed in our care is provided with all the necessary ingredients for a safe and happy life, and that it is also protected from those who would do it harm. Each horse placed in our care will receive our full efforts to ensure that it never ends up in the auction ring or on the slaughterhouse floor. We promise to do our best to provide only the best homes with dedicated families for every animal we place. The process of adopting a horse from MHWF is simple! Print out the application and fill that out. Once it is received we will get in touch with you via telephone and will answer any questions you might have, whether they be about our program and policies or a particular horse in our program.
MHWF is a charity and nonprofit organization dedicated to finding homes for horses who have found themselves at a transition in their lives. The horses come to us for many reasons and each horse has its own unique story. Some horses come to us from working directly with law enforcement, some finding themselves in unfortunate situations that we are able to help with and some come from owners who have found they could no longer keep their horse for a variety of reasons and want to keep them safe. They all have one thing in common, they need a loving, caring and safe home. Our policies are the accumulation of years of experience and planning. We are looking for good people with big hearts willing to share their lives with a great horse who needs their help. Part of our vision is to show people that adoption is one of the best ways to go to add a horse to your family, and these horses are just as worthy, talented, versatile and adaptive as any other horse out there.

Personally I wouldn't donate a penny to their cause. Hey everyone! I am currently a high school junior looking to volunteer in horse rescues. However I have had trouble finding one near me. I live near Janesville, so the only one within driving distance is Spirit Horse.
